OBJECTIVE
Create a new product or experience out of the Ikea IVAR Chair while still maintaining its structural foundation.

CONCEPT
A new take on "Musical Chairs" by turning the IVAR Chair into an instrument. The goal is to give anyone the opportunity to make music and explore their creativity without any musical background.
OUR CHAIR INCLUDES
DRUM: Recycled wood pedal, cork mallet, bucket
HAND DRUM: Second hand oven pan
XYLOPHONE: Recycled glass bottles & 3D printed hooks
MARACAS/TAMBOURINE: Recycled glass jars with various fillings
STREET MUSIC LOOK: Layered spray paint for "worn" look
Jars that I had collected at home!
The first installation of the jar shelf.
I spray painted the seat!
My group mate drilling the drum insert into the chair.
I cut a thin piece of wood to fit snug into the side of the chair.
My group mate working on the drum pedal.
My group mates screwing the pedal into the chair
I collected these glasses that I had drank from and my group mate 3D printed hooks for them.
I shaved the top of this piece so that the jar shelf wouldn't be tilting backwards
I painted the tops of the lids and around their inserts so signal where to place them.
I spray painted the rest of the chair.
